What is spam?
Spam is unsolicited (and generally unwanted) e-mail, usually sent to thousands of e-mail addresses. These mails often contain advertisements. Spamming is also referred to as UCE (Unsolicited Commercial E-mail). The problem is getting bigger every day, recent research showed that of all e-mails sent today, more than half of the them is spam.
Spam can also be defined as a e-mail where no one has asked for, with a commercial character and simultaneously sent to a large number of people. The three criteria: a. a large transmission, also called bulk, b. unsolicited or unwelcome to the recipient; c. commercial character. The so-called ‘irritation test’ should also be taken into account. A particular user will indeed categorize e-mail that evokes irritation as spam.
What is a mailing?
E-mail marketing is a form of direct marketing by e-mail used for commercial or fundraising messages and sent to a predetermined and defined (target) audience. A mailing campaign is part of the marketing strategy of a company. The correct application of e-mail marketing allows customers or prospects to get to know your company and products. If you offer several products or services, it may be interesting to know which product or service has the main interest.
